the process

Proofreading + Copyediting

Edits address spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. This level of service is usually sought by authors who want a professional to take one last look before going to print.

proofreading + copyediting rate is  $50/per hour

Substantive editing

Edits address spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Additionally, copyeditor will provide suggestions for revising awkward or confusing sentences as well as improving focus and organization of overall text. This level is most commonly sought by the author who wants a professional to review his/her manuscript before sending it to publishers for review or preparing to self-publish.

substantive editing rate is  $70/per hour

Developmental editing

Edits address logic of argument or plot, organization, and clarity. This level is most commonly sought by authors who are open to major changes to their manuscripts. We will work together to get your manuscript where you want it to be.

Reference checks

This service includes formatting footnotes, endnotes, in-text citations, and bibliography/reference lists to conform to preferred publication style (e.g., Chicago, APA, AMA, etc.). Reference checks include cross referencing citations against a reference list to ensure accuracy in all research documentation. These services are usually sought by those publishing in the academic or medical community.

Dissertation or Thesis formatting

Colleges and universities often have specific formatting requirements that must be met in order to successfully submit you dissertation or thesis for final approval. This service includes formatting your document according to your institution’s specifications for spacing, headings, margins, page numbers, table of contents, tables, etc.
